OUR COMMUNITY PROJECTS

Combining community benefit with renewable energy is the heart of Gwent Energy CIC's beliefs.

Scroll on to see all the different ways we’ve achieved this, with the power and support of local people.

This page is still under construction as we work to gather the information on all of our installations over the years – there’s a lot!

Forest of Dean Community Space

MADE POSSIBLE THANKS TO COMMUNITY INVESTORS

We installed a 39-panel solar system with a battery storage at Sling Community Hub. This has helped them keep their energy costs low while providing cleaner energy. Thanks to our community investors, the hub can focus its resources on the groups and services that make this place feel like home.

Bridges Community Centre

MADE POSSIBLE THANKS TO LOCAL INVESTORS

We supported Bridges Community Centre with plans for a low-carbon heating and energy system, helping to reduce running costs and improve long-term sustainability for the community groups that rely on the building. In addition, we installed EV charging points, making it easier for local people to switch to cleaner transport and charge affordably within their own community.

Ebenezer Baptist Church (2019)

HIGHLY COMMENDED SMALL SCALE PROJECT ENERGY EFFICIENCY AWARDS 2019

Ebenezer Baptist Church is a welcoming community hub in the Gwent Valleys, running vital services such as the local food bank and hearing-aid battery support. We installed solar panels, a 10 kWh battery and new LED lighting throughout the building. These upgrades have cut the church’s electricity use by around 80 percent, saving significant running costs so they can offer even more support to local families without rising bills holding them back.
